Privacy Policy

EngineeringAtlas is a reading-first engineering publication. We try to collect as little about you as possible, and we never sell your data. This page explains what we do collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Analytics. If analytics is enabled in production, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, approximate location). IP addresses are anonymized and we do not use this data to identify individuals. Analytics never runs in development or preview.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide so we can send you the newsletter. That is the only field we ask for, and it is processed by our email provider on our behalf.
- Server logs. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) for security and reliability, as part of operating the site.
We do not run advertising trackers, sell personal data, or build profiles on readers.
Cookies
The site itself needs no tracking cookies to read articles. Your theme preference (light/dark) is stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may set its own cookies; you can block these with your browser settings or an extension without affecting your ability to read.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of processors to run the site:
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
- Google Analytics — privacy-respecting, anonymized traffic measurement (only when enabled).
- Our email provider — newsletter delivery (only if you subscribe).
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email, or by contacting us.
- Block analytics and cookies through your browser or an ad/tracker blocker.
- Request access to or deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing us.
Children
EngineeringAtlas is intended for a professional, developer audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
